A View Across A Bay
Bloubergstrand is a seaside suburb of the City of Cape Town, South Africa, 15 kilometers (9.3 mi) due north of the city center. Literally, Bloubergstrand means Blue Mountain Beach. How important is setting to you? How much, in your opinion, does setting impact a story? I mean, can you take a tale set in Europe and transplant it to Antarctica and get the same effect? Of course not. The setting is about more than the clothes the characters wear; it is more than a mere backdrop for events. I mean, in Texas we have cowboys and in Australia there are rugged farmers.
