Donkeys have a bad rep. Let's face it, they are onerous, stubborn and lazy. So why have they become the pack animal of choice the world over?

Did you know:  

A donkey's bray can carry up to 60 miles in the desert. A donkey is stronger than a horse of the same size. Donkeys have been used as working animals for at least 5,000 years and can live well into their 50s. And donkeys are extremely nimble and can cross tricky terrain.

So, why am I telling you all this? Because Santa uses donkeys to draw his sleigh in Santa's Christmas Wish. Why, you ask, and what happened to the reindeer?

Nothing. Let's just say a change was needed. And the humble donkey was a worthy candidate to pull Santa's sleigh. After all, Mother Mary rode a donkey to Bethlehem, and Jesus himself rode a wild donkey (an Onager) to enter Jerusalem to cheering crowds. Just saying.

Santa's Christmas Wish is all about Santa's love life. 

I hope you will forgive me for exercising my writer's prerogative to change things around a bit in the telling of my tall fantasy tale. I did warn you that Santa's Christmas Wish isn't your ordinary, run-of-the-mill Santa story. And donkeys-instead-of-reindeer isn't the only difference to what you know about Santa.
